This week gives you a PEEK INTO PRIDE!

Memorial Day Weekend is just around the corner and that means NYC will explode into an endless array of activities and events.
Everything from the GMA Concert series to Shakespeare in the Park, to the Met, to an old black and white movie on one of the Piers, there is something to keep you entertained and on the go throughout the summer. As always we will provide you with a one-stop shop for everything FABULOUS in the City to get you up & OUT!

Thanks to all of you that corrected me on the mathematical error I made on the number of states remaining in our count towards total marriage equality....can you believe I was a math major!! This week Minnesota joins the ranks....making them the third state in less then two weeks to legalize same sex marriage. That brings the total to 12....leaving 38 to go! We're on a ROLL!!

Last week I attended the town hall meeting on the "AIDS Generation" ... about 6oo people were in attendance. The evening gave the community an opportunity to weigh in on the issues facing many of us as we continue to grapple with what it means to have fought an epidemic that the rest of the world mostly ignored. The panelists discussed that many of us that survived have issues with unprocessed grief, or loneliness or depression and yet as a group we have shown remarkable resilience. As a community we are celebrating each state as they vote for Marriage Equality but at the same time the gay community has sort of turned its back on the AIDS fight. We can't pretend that AIDS isn't a problem anymore. Many of the national gay rights groups and gay foundations and big gay money are focused entirely on the battle for marriage equality. Are we only capable of a single focus? There is an increase of HIV infections in young gay men, especially in young gay men of color. What are we going to do? Let's start with this Sunday and the  AIDS Walk...if you can't be there then PLEASE make a donation... AIDS hasn't gone away!
