Where oh where has winter gone? I'm not complaining! Last night at 11:30 I went out to walk my dog Reuben just wearing tee shirt. All the radiators in my apartment are OFF and all my windows are open...but there's no such thing as "climate change"!

Last week I was really excited that Gov. Chris Christie of NJ had nominated Bruce A. Harris as the first openly gay person in history to the New Jersey Supreme Court. What I didn't know is that the nomination came with a condition. Harris has agreed to Christie's condition that he would recuse himself from any marriage equality cases! Christie also called Harris and Assemblyman Reed Gusciora, the two openly gay New Jersey legislators, "numbnuts" for comparing him to segregationists for comments he made about civil rights. If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck??? Newark's mayor Cory Booker's response to Christie's over the top comments is extremely powerful .....listen to his stand on this issue and send him a thank you note.

Last week I wrote about the comments made by Cynthia Nixon that she "chose" to be gay. I received a number of comments...equally divided between men and woman. Hopefully within the next month this intro will become a blog and your comments will be posted. Worth reading is the brilliant article written Frank Bruni of the NYT on this issue....GO FRANK!

There are only 12 more days to see the HIDE/SEEK: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture at he Brooklyn Museum. It's the first major museum exhibition to focus on themes of gender and sexuality in modern American. The show highlights the contributions of gay and lesbian artists to American art. Every review I've heard has been just terrific ...it's not an exhibit that should be missed!
