October 1 - October 11

Today is October 1st and it's official, Medicare Open Enrollment has officially begun.
UPS was at my door at 9am to deliver carton after carton of 2016 enrollment kits and materials .....My living room resembles a storage room!

This is probably my last newsletter.  I'm feeling a lot of emotions ... everything from sadness, to lose, to a sense of relief.  Putting together the newsletter for the past 8 years has truly been a labor of love.  I've met a lot of wonderful people along the journey that have been there to support this effort. Thank you Alina, she helped design and launch the original concept back in 2003. To Rob whose creative talent designed our website and newsletter ... let me not forget that Rob has always been there when I've been on the brink of loosing my mind. To David who kept me updated on many of the events we've published.

HOWEVER.....I'm not going to completely disappear!  Hopefully when Open Enrollment ends I'm going to start writing my blog again. Could I let can election cycle like the one we're seeing for 2016 go without my comments? You'll be able to read it thru the new publisher.....let me introduce you to Manny....

Hello NYC Up & Out readers, I am beyond thrilled that NYC Up & Out is joining the Connextions Magazine family. At Connextions, we report on the news and information on LGBTQ friendly travel places and we have been publishing since 2010. We are currently expanding our brand and NYC Up & Out is our way to continue to provide you with all of the latest information in our hometown - New York City! Dvorah created a great online community, and with her blessing, we will continue her hard work and will look for ways to continue to improve. If you have any suggestions, questions or thoughts, please feel free to reach out to us and we will do our best to assist you. As we transition, you will soon see some minor changes on our website, so continue to check it out.

Manny Velasquez-Paredes
This is a perfect new home for NYC up & OUT.  Connextions is structured so that they can develop my original concept ...start in NYC and expand to other cities ...Atlanta Up & OUT, Chicago Up & OUT...etc.

I can still be reached thru my email.... I look forward to hearing from you.

Don't forget....

Have FUN, take CARE and be SAFE!
