Prizes are awarded in more than 20 categories, including a $5,000 grand prize. Its themes are drawn from the pages of history as well as our world today. THE BOYS IN THE BAND is set during Harold's 32nd birthday party. The tension-filled evening unravels the conflicted souls of its revelers, moving from a hilarious and spirited celebration to a heart-wrenching, and climactic end. THE BOYS IN THE BAND written by Mart Crowley and directed by Jack Cummings III originally played Off-Broadway in 1968. Transport Group mounted a 40th Anniversary celebration concert reading of the play in 2008, and will now mount a full production with previews starting February 12, 2010.
