After a visit from Jack’s ex-girlfriend who had followed them there, she is found outside, dead. The local Sheriff, a New York detective, and the famous mystery author who lives next door try to solve the mystery. Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company

My Red Blood opens in post-war New York City where, growing up in a Communist family, Dobkin watches Jackie Robinson steal home, rubs elbows with radical left celebrities like Paul Robeson, and comes of age under the watchful eye of the FBI. It’s only after she arrives on the burgeoning folk music scene of Greenwich Village, where she meets the up-and-coming Bob Dylan, Bill Cosby, John Sebastian, Buffy Ste. The Mother is still a poor, single mom who just lost her job, and Amahl is her disabled son. No longer found in a Biblical locale, however, they now live in a small, one-room apartment somewhere in a NYC neighborhood. The “VIP” Night Visitors are present in their usual fantastic regalia, but are here on an peace mission. When we see them enter the Mother’s apartment, we are led to wonder if they are “real” or the result of Amahl’s amazingly inventive imagination. City Symphonies Out of Doors: Text of Light
(On the High Line in the 14th St Passage) (7pm) Acclaimed avant-garde ensemble Text of Light—composer and saxophonist Ulrich Krieger, guitarist and composer Alan Licht, turntablist and visual artist Christian Marclay, and Sonic Youth co-founder Lee Ranaldo—presents a live musical score to Berlin: Symphony of a Great City (Walter Ruttman, 1927), a feature-length “city symphony” film that captures urban life through a vibrant mix of documentary footage, abstract visual compositions, and impressionistic montage techniques. Text of Light’s loosely structured improvisational score will feature the remarkable intonarumori (Futurist noise machines), among many other instruments. The live performance to Berlin will be preceded by a screening of the short film Manhatta (Charles Sheeler and Paul Strand, 1921), another city symphony that depicts a day in New York City. OUTAuction NYC 2009

Part glamorous cocktail party, part art auction, OUTAuction celebrates established and emerging artists and recognizes GLAAD’s Top 100 Artists. Generations: a 30th-Anniversary Concert
